Construction vs Strangler
2009, proposal for public art project.
The point of departure for this sculpture is ideas connected to the relationship between the urban and nature. Is it the construction of reinforcement bar and concrete taking over the tree or the tree taking over the construction? With this sculpture the artist hopes to activate thoughts about the situation we live in right now - this transitional period where we not yet know if nature catastrophies will take over our civilization or if we in time will stop the procedure and keep the development in check. Is it even possible to live in unison and build harmony between the urban and nature?
